Koelenhof Wine Cellar, Company
Wine of Origin Stellenbosch, South Africa, Koelenhof Wine Cellar is situated among the vineyard-covered slopes 14 kilometres outside Stellenbosch which attract wine lovers from all over the world. We invite you to take a meander along the Bottelary Hills wine route (R304). There, you will discover a winery with an unflagging commitment to create top quality, yet accessible wines.
South Africa is loved for her generous hospitality and unpretentious spirit. It is our vision to capture this character in every bottle of Koelenhof wine, to be enjoyed time and again.
Koelenhof Wine Cellar has emerged from humble beginnings as a bulk wine producer. The grower-owned winery was established in 1941, with the De Vries family at the helm. Members of the family continue to play an integral role at the winery, supported by a dedicated team of staff and loyal partners. Today, Koelenhof presses an impressive 16 000 tons of grapes every year; the fruit of the labour and commitment of 70 local shareholders.
The winery remains humble, despite collecting a string of awards. In 2009, Koelenhof received top honours as South Africa’s Best Value Cellar Overall in WINE magazine’s 2009 Best Value Wine Guide. Koelenhof’s own label wines offer that elusive combination of superb quality and excellent value.

We are able to offer both small and established producers the resources to make and store wine in optimum conditions. Whether you are looking for contract winemaking, wine analysis, bottling and storage of wines, we have the expertise and ideal facilities to meet your needs.

This wine has a deep red colour with prominent blackcurrant and spices on the nose. Koelenberg 2009 is a medium bodied wine with red fruit flavours on the palate and rounded by smoky wood. A blend of 50 Shiraz, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 14% Merlot.

This delicious semi-sweet rosé made by winemaker Martin Stevens, has a beautiful deep rosé colour. It has a typical Pinotage character; strawberries, raspberries and vanilla on the nose.
